About the role 

In this position you will be responsible for supporting Qualcomm customers using Qualcomm chipsets in IOT segment. The role requires close communication with both customers and internal development or engineering teams to understand customer requirements and system design. The candidate will provide end-to-end debugging and log analysis of issues on the chipsets, including BSP and user applications on customer products. The role combines customer-facing technical leadership with hands-on solution architecture, prototyping, and system validation, serving as a trusted technical contributor and advisor for customers and regional solution engagements. 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.  
    OR 
    Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience. 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, high motivation, the ability to learn quickly and must be a self-starter.  

  • 2+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Python, etc. 

  • Experience with embedded systems - exposure to one or more of Linux, Yocto, Ubuntu based systems.  

  • 1+ year of any combination of academic and/or work experience with device debugging techniques. 

  • Background in computer vision, video analytics, or edge AI inference. 

  • Ability to speak fluent Portuguese and English 

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, presentation, written).

   

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience delivering customer‑facing IoT or Edge AI solutions that moved beyond PoC to pilot or production. 

  • Exposure to one or more verticals such as industrial automation, smart cities, public sector, energy, logistics, or retail. 

  • Experience with Embedded Linux and modern application packaging (e.g., containers). 

  • Skills in video/image processing, and application development. 

  • Experience with multimedia frameworks (Android, Linux, any other OS). Gstreamer experience a plus. 

  • System‑level understanding of IoT, embedded systems, M2M, industrial IOT and Edge AI deployments. 

  • Understanding multiple key technology areas (Camera/Image sensors, Audio, Video, Display, AI/ML, Computer Vision, distributed systems, SoC architecture, RTOS) 

  • Theoretical knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, model compression, quantization, and optimization is a plus. 

  • Familiarity with AI frameworks and runtimes such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX, and deployment‑oriented inference workflows is a plus. 

  • Have knowledge in on-device AI models deployment is a plus. 

  • Experience with client-server or distributed systems in quality or development 

  • Experience with wireless standards (i.e. NBIot/LTE/5G/WiFi/Bluetooth/GPS).

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Support customer application deployment (E.g. computer vision, vision-language models) on Qualcomm Dragonwing platforms, helping customers move from development to commercialization. 

  • Support pre-sales and post-sales customer engagements as a solution engineer, translating business requirements into technical solutions, optimizing AI workloads, providing deployment guidance, and driving issue investigation and resolution. 

  • Translate customer requirements, use cases and business needs into technical solutions using Qualcomm platforms and technologies.  

  • Provide internal enablement (training, documentation, and hands-on support) and help resolve technical issues as they arise. 

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners (OEMs, ISVs, system integrators, and cloud providers) to align requirements and validate end-to-end solutions. 

  • Act as a technical lead for customer engagements, supporting projects from discovery through PoC, pilot, early production and commercial solution launches. 

  • Support customer architecture reviews and technical roadmap discussions. 

  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, guiding solution selection, implementation, and optimization of solutions based on product capabilities.
