Microsoft ISD is seeking a Solution Architect to help strategic customers with their digital and AI transformation. You will design and deploy cloud solutions, acting as a trusted advisor and thought leader in solution architecture.
Responsibilities
- Understand customer/partner technical environments and gather insights from stakeholders.
- Identify and evaluate industry trends and adapt business models accordingly.
- Collaborate with customer/partner stakeholders to socialize business solutions and project approaches.
- Design and deploy solutions using structured approaches, methodologies, and reference architectures.
- Define and document architecture, including decisions, requirements, and constraints.
- Lead cost-based and technology-based discussions to explain architecture and business value.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Account Teams on governance, quality control, and test plans.
- Gather and ratify requirements and constraints, managing ambiguity and documenting assumptions.
- Build and document a costed solution approach, balancing risk, technical credibility, and innovation.
- Oversee implementation, governance, and transition to live operations.
- Anticipate and address technical blockers and resolve non-technical issues.
- Communicate business and technical risks, defining mitigation and contingency plans.
- Generate intellectual property and drive improvements to existing solutions.
- Participate in and contribute to internal/external communities.
- Develop senior-level internal/external relationships to build influence and address problems.
- Act as an advisor to external stakeholders and provide direction for relationships.
- Stay up-to-date on Microsoft technologies, products, and services.
- Challenge the status quo and drive consensus to resolve conflicts.
- Lead adoption of Microsoft solutions by understanding competitor offerings and customer business value.
- Influence industry-wide direction for specific architectures.
- Lead virtual teams around technologies and customer/partner challenges.
- Participate in external architect community events and share learnings.
- Mentor less experienced colleagues on technical and non-technical concepts.
- Demonstrate deep industry knowledge and drive recognition for Microsoft solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) in Information Technology, Computer Science/Engineering.
- 12-14+ years of related IT experience with Solution Architecture.
- Enterprise-scale technical experience with cloud and hybrid infrastructures, architecture designs, database migrations, and technology management.
- Work experience involving pre-sales support on large deals.
- Experience in technical consulting, solution design of complex solutions, project envisioning, planning, development, deployment, and Team management.
- Proven record of delivering business value.
- Proven trust-relationships with CxO, ITDM, BDM.
- Fluent English verbal and written communication skills.
