Volvo Financial Services is seeking a Software Engineer with frontend and backend development experience to help build a modern, cloud-based data ecosystem. This role focuses on automation, process improvement, and working across the full development lifecycle to turn business requirements into reliable technology solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead automation initiatives from planning and design through to implementation, deployment and continuous improvement
  • Build and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js, alongside frontend interfaces and related workflows
  • Work with SQL and PostgreSQL, including queries, schema design and data integrity
  • Translate complex business rules into accurate, tested automated solutions, working with financial calculations, decision engines and backend and data integrations
  • Use AI assisted development tools to accelerate delivery, while critically reviewing and validating the output against business requirements
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand and refine processes before deciding how they can be automated and improved

Requirements

  • Solid experience with process review, automation, backend development and frontend development
  • Strong experience with process review, automation and optimisation
  • Experience with Node.js or an equivalent backend technology, alongside strong SQL and relational database knowledge
  • Proficiency with version control and modern software development practices
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret detailed business rules and acceptance criteria and translate them into accurate, tested solutions
  • Exposure to, or an interest in developing your knowledge of, AWS or Azure, cloud platforms, Infrastructure as Code and security fundamentals, with support provided to develop these skills

  • Interest in developing knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), Infrastructure as Code and security fundamentals.
