Alfa Laval is hiring a Senior Test/QA Engineer for their IoT platform and edge-device ecosystem in Pune. This full-time, on-site role requires strong automation skills and experience across UI, API, and integration testing, with Playwright being a preferred skill. The candidate will collaborate with development teams to ensure product quality and drive test strategy.
Responsibilities
- Own and drive test scenarios, test coverage, and release readiness from a QA perspective.
- Proactively identify quality risks, gaps, dependencies, and edge cases during feature development and release planning.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites using Playwright (preferred).
- Define and execute smoke, sanity, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing strategies.
- Collaborate closely with developers, architects, product owners, and scrum teams to ensure quality is built into the development lifecycle.
- Perform API, UI, integration, and system-level testing across cloud and edge-device ecosystems.
- Contribute to improving release confidence, test processes, and QA best practices.
- Support CI/CD integration for automated test execution.
- Analyze defects, perform root-cause analysis, and contribute to continuous quality improvements.
- Mentor junior QA team members and support the growth of automation and quality engineering practices.
Requirements
- 5–10 years of experience in software quality assurance and testing.
- Strong hands-on experience in automation testing.
- Experience with Playwright preferred.
- Strong understanding of API testing, integration testing, and end-to-end validation.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Good debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and proactively drive quality improvements.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with IoT platforms, gateways, edge devices, embedded systems, or industrial software products.
- Familiarity with device-to-cloud communication workflows.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution.
- Experience with Python, TypeScript, or similar scripting/programming languages.
- Understanding of Linux-based environments and system-level troubleshooting.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Strong ownership mindset and proactive approach toward quality.
- Ability to think beyond test execution and contribute to release quality and engineering maturity.
- Comfortable working in cross-functional engineering teams.
- Passion for building reliable, scalable, and maintainable quality practices.
- Curiosity to learn new technologies and continuously improve testing approaches.
