Nordea is seeking a Senior AI Developer/Fullstack to join their Integration and AI Engineering team in Gdynia, Gdańsk, or Helsinki. The role involves developing a self-service portal for AI and API platforms, including backend and frontend services, custom integrations, and improving developer experience. Experience with Spring Boot, React, TypeScript, and REST APIs is required, with a strong interest in AI technologies like LLMs and MCPs being a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain backend and frontend components of the self-service portal and implement new capabilities.
  • Build backend services using Spring Boot and develop frontend features using React, TypeScript, and Material UI.
  • Develop and troubleshoot integrations between the gateway and internal applications or external vendors.
  • Build and consume REST APIs, contributing to reliable, maintainable, and well-structured service interfaces.
  • Collaborate with DevOps engineers, developers, a UI/UX Designer, and the Product Owner to deliver high-quality platform capabilities.
  • Contribute to future AI-driven features and integrations within the platform to cater for LLMs, MCP, and A2A.

Requirements

  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Development, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Professional experience as a fullstack, backend, or frontend developer
  • Spring Boot
  • TypeScript
  • React
  • Material UI (MUI)
  • Experience building and consuming REST APIs
  • Experience developing modern web applications

Desired Qualifications

  • You are a hands-on fullstack developer: You enjoy working across backend and frontend development and care about building useful, reliable, and maintainable software.
  • You understand integration patterns: You have experience building and consuming REST APIs and working with integrations between applications, platforms, and vendors.
  • You are curious about AI: You have experience or interest in AI technologies and integration with LLMs, MCPs, and A2A.
  • PostgreSQL
  • Kubernetes
  • Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure infrastructure
  • Kong API Management
  • Experience or interest in AI-related technologies and integrations, such as: Large Language Models (LLMs), AI-powered user experiences and automation, Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar AI integration patterns.
