As a Quality Assurance Engineer at Amazon Search Relevance Measurement, you will be responsible for troubleshooting customer escalations, performing root cause analysis, and enhancing the customer search experience. You will develop and implement scalable automation testing strategies across multiple locales and device types, utilizing tools like Selenium and SOAPUI, and writing complex SQL queries to debug search logs.
Responsibilities
- Test code at service and user level using black box, gray box, and white box techniques.
- Innovate test strategy across multiple dependencies, locales, and device types.
- Implement highly scalable automation to enable Search stack testing across 21 locales.
- Understand software internals, debug complex problems including performance bottlenecks.
- Troubleshoot Search escalations and regression.
- Write automated tests using existing tools or in existing frameworks.
- Work with Software Development Engineers and Business Owners to understand business drivers and technical implementations.
- Collaborate with Product Management, User Interaction, and Customer Support to understand customer usage models and develop test plans.
- Diagnose project release problems and take corrective action.
- Drive the software development process toward quality-centric methodologies.
- Report on test progress, metrics, and issues.
- Write complex and efficient SQL queries to debug search logs and replay customer scenarios.
Requirements
- 2+ years of quality assurance engineering experience.
- Experience in automation testing.
- Experience in manual testing.
- Experience in UI and API automation testing (Selenium/SOAPUI).
- Experience troubleshooting issues and root cause analysis.
- Experience with SQL.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in API & Mobile testing.
- Experience designing and planning test conditions, test scripts, and test data sets to ensure appropriate and adequate coverage and control.
