Responsibilities
- Lead the creation of highly competitive and strategic proposals for North America renewable energy control systems, with a primary focus in hydroelectric power.
- Architect solutions from both a technical and commercial perspective, encompassing written proposals and accompanying cost estimates.
- Support Emerson's Power and Water Solutions business.
- Develop a foundation of engineering, automation, networking, and business skills.
- Ensure all aspects of proposal preparation are performed accurately and timely.
- Prepare control system proposals in response to customer requests, including interpretation of specifications and drawings.
- Create best-cost solutions to meet customer needs, minimize risk, and maximize profit.
- Effectively present costs, risks, and differentiators to key decision makers.
- Review purchase orders to ensure they accurately reflect our proposed scope.
- Coordinate the efforts of a global team of engineers and subject-matter experts to contribute to proposal development and position project execution teams for success.
Requirements
- BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a related STEM field, or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of related experience
- Experience with control systems (PLC/DCS/SCADA)
- Experience in the hydroelectric, solar, battery storage (BESS), and/or wind industries
- Ability to travel up to 10%
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering is preferred
- Experience with writing proposals and developing cost estimates
