In short

As a Project Technical Engineer at ABB, you will be responsible for the technical execution of projects, from sales handover through basic and detailed engineering, testing, commissioning, and warranty support. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Automation (Marine) or equivalent, with knowledge of marine and offshore electrical propulsion systems and drive systems.

Responsibilities

  • Attend project handover meetings and review technical documents.
  • Identify project risks and opportunities.
  • Acquire initial data from stakeholders and prepare engineering documentation.
  • Monitor engineering process compliance with standards and rules.
  • Guide design works and manage design changes.
  • Check project documents status and organize deliveries.
  • Answer technical questions from stakeholders.
  • Organize and lead project technical reviews.
  • Prepare FAT procedures and checklists.
  • Attend FAT and support customers during testing.
  • Provide technical support for critical commissioning issues.
  • Prepare final documents and software archives.
  • Join warranty case studies and update engineering documentation.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects and share lessons learned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical & Automation (Marine).
  • Knowledge of Marine & Offshore electrical propulsion systems.
  • Knowledge of Electrical drive system analysis (Drive system THD calculation, AFEE converter filter selection, System resonance evaluation).
  • Knowledge of Drive system products (Medium voltage frequency converter, Low voltage frequency converter, PLC drive control unit hardware/software, Vessel remote control unit hardware).
  • Fluent English communication (Oral/Written).
  • Ownership of area of responsibility.
  • Higher Quality awareness in daily work.

  • Lean 6 Sigma (L6S) basic knowledge.
