Emerson is seeking a Project Manager in Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia. This on-site, full-time role involves overseeing project execution, managing risks, ensuring quality and safety, controlling costs, and building effective project teams. The ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant engineering field and at least 10 years of experience in the process control industry and project management.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring focus on understanding customer demands & pain points, and solving of customer problems to improve customer satisfaction and increase customer loyalty.
- Ensuring Project is executed and delivered as per customer expectations.
- Coordinating the purchase of equipment, material and services in a timely and efficient manner based on the contractual schedule and project specifications.
- Identifying, analyzing and responding to risks that are likely to affect the projects.
- Project status, performance and forecasting reporting to the management/customer.
- Ensuring meticulous project scope planning & tracking to deliver the project successfully.
- Implementing good project management standards and practices, including material procurement, project implementation phase, up to the successful commissioning of the project at customer site.
- Identifying and resolving changes across the entire project and negotiation of change order with customers/suppliers.
- Managing and tracking of project related changes systematically.
- Financially acute project manager to manage the overall cost of the project.
- Accountable on forecasting & delivery of the project revenue.
- Close coordination with various stakeholders (internal & external) on cost control of a project.
- Ensuring implementation of timely and accurate cost tracking mechanism on project costs.
- Supporting Sales team with cost estimation for major systems project pursuit.
- Responsible for forecasting resource requirement on each project.
- Coordinating & management of resources for the various tasks on the project.
- Inspiring a collaborative project environment amongst the diverse project team members.
- Fostering ownership within each team members through influence, positive reinforcement.
- Ensuring timely and appropriate generation, collection, dissemination, storage, and ultimate disposition of project information.
- Handling subcontractor schedules, quality-of-work and releasing of payment based on actual completion of subcontractor’s scope of work.
- Serving as an adaptable focal point of contact for customer, supplier, and internal stakeholders for assigned projects.
- Providing sales support on both engineering and commercial issues for systems projects.
- Leading multiple MSS Projects to meet and/or exceed customer’s specifications, project timeline, financial goals, Safety and quality standards.
- Managing & coordinating activities & sub tasks with the Fabricator / Integrator on the overall project.
- Ensuring Safety & Quality compliance by Vendor & Sub Vendor on activities at the Fabrication Yard pertaining the Emerson project.
- Planning / preparing & coordinating Internal & Customer acceptance testing.
- Planning / preparing & coordinating with LifeCycle Services team on Site Acceptance Test.
- Ensuring timeliness in managing testing schedule & closure of Punch List and obtaining of shipment release prior to packing & delivery.
- Ensuring timely completion and close-out of project, based on contractual requirement, including resolution of any open items.
- Following through on completion / full approval of project documentation and compilation into final manufacturing databook.
Requirements
- Degree or any equivalent in Electrical, Electronics, Chemical, Mechanical, Control or Computer Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of proven experience in process control industry and project management, with at least 5 years in PM capacity, handling multiple system projects.
- Proven leadership skills with strong communication and interpersonal skills at all levels.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal and planning skills.
- Strong commercial and financial competence.
- Proven skills in the use of project tools (such as MS Project) and techniques.
Desired Qualifications
- PMP Certification will be a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and results oriented.
- Flow Measurement System for Hydrocarbons and/or Process Analytical System experience are a plus.
- Knowledge of FPSO systems and experience is a plus.
- Understanding of Marine Certification requirements.
- Decisive, dedicated and ability to deliver effective, innovative solutions.
- Candidates with 15+ years of relevant experience and demonstrated technical leadership results may be considered for a Senior Project Manager position.
