Qualcomm is seeking a Physical Design Engineer in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico to define, model, design, optimize, verify, and document IP development for high-performance products. This role involves collaborating across teams and evaluating process flow from design to verification.

Responsibilities

  • Applies ASIC knowledge to define, model, design (digital/analog), optimize, verify, validate, implement, and document IP (block/SoC) development.
  • Creates architectures, circuit specifications, logic designs, and/or system simulations based on system-level requirements.
  • Collaborates across teams (e.g., software architecture, hardware architecture) to develop and execute an implementation strategy.
  • Evaluates all aspects of process flow from high-level design to synthesis, place and route, timing and power use, and verification.
  • Utilizes tools/applications (e.g., RTL to GDS Flow, Virtuoso) to execute architecture and design.
  • Writes detailed technical documentation for EDA/IP/ASIC projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • ASIC knowledge and experience.
  • Experience with RTL to GDS Flow.
  • Experience with Virtuoso.

  • Requires verbal and written communication skills.
  • May require basic negotiation, influence, tact.
  • Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions.
