Construction, Engineering & Trades · Civil & Industrial Engineering · Mechanical Engineering

In short

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our experienced team developing energy-efficient centrifugal compressors used worldwide. You will contribute to next-generation product development, from concept to field support, utilizing strong analytical and mechanical design skills. The role involves advanced engineering methods, risk management, and collaboration across disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in the development of next-generation centrifugal compressor technologies and products.
  • Work closely with specialists from various engineering disciplines throughout the complete product development cycle: from concept generation and technology development to prototype validation, product release and field support.
  • Combine strong analytical skills with sound engineering judgment to translate technical challenges into practical design solutions.
  • Independently evaluate design concepts, identify risks, challenge assumptions and contribute to well-founded engineering decisions.
  • Perform mechanical design and analysis, including sizing and validating critical rotating equipment components such as shafts, gears, rolling-element bearings and hydrodynamic bearings.
  • Perform engineering calculations, finite element analyses and rotor dynamic assessments to ensure reliable and performant product designs.
  • Support prototype assembly, investigate field failures or validate new design concepts.
  • Maintain accurate product structures, manage engineering BOMs and ensure designs are properly documented.
  • Utilize design reviews, DFMEA methodologies and engineering best practices to improve product robustness and reliability.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues from different technical backgrounds, document findings and provide constructive feedback.
  • Report to the Team Leader Centrifugal Compressors.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent through experience.
  • Experience in the design and development of mechanical systems or rotating equipment.
  • Strong understanding of gears, shafts, rolling-element bearings and hydrodynamic bearings.
  • Experience with engineering calculations, finite element analysis (FEA) and rotor dynamics.
  • Familiarity with DFMEA, design reviews and engineering risk assessment methodologies.
  • Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and engineering standards.
  • Experience supporting prototype development, testing and failure investigations.
  • Structured way of working with strong attention to detail and documentation quality.
  • Ability to manage and maintain engineering BOMs and product structures.
  • Strong team player with good communication skills.
