As a Manufacturing Engineer - Technology Integration in Shanghai or Langfang, China, you will support the development and implementation of future manufacturing and digital technologies within the Service Technology Centre. This role bridges technology development and manufacturing operations, requiring experience with automation systems, project management, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Support the development and execution of CAPEX and current projects.
- Deliver project outcomes safely, on time, and within budget.
- Act as a link between manufacturing and digital technology teams.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects using manufacturing engineering expertise and digital tools.
- Support regional STC operational teams and Innovation teams.
- Validate the operational and financial benefits of future technologies.
- Implement internal directives, engineering changes, and service information requirements.
- Support VTPS principles, engineering audits, and governance processes.
- Develop and share technical knowledge across the STC network globally.
Requirements
- Degree-level qualification in an engineering discipline, or equivalent technical experience.
- Strong experience working with PLCs, HMIs, and industrial automation systems.
- Experience managing external stakeholders, including suppliers and contractors.
- Good understanding of manufacturing engineering processes, project delivery, safety assessments, risk management, and change control.
- Fluent English language skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in a manufacturing engineering, process engineering, automation, or technology integration environment.
- Experience ideally within a complex manufacturing or service operations setting.
- Knowledge of industrial networks and protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profinet, Profibus or OPC-UA would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, quality tools, and continuous improvement methods such as Kaizen, time study, VSM, PFMEA, and structured problem solving would be beneficial.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively from the shop floor through to management teams and across global stakeholders.
