We are seeking a Machine Operator I for our 2nd shift in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. This full-time role involves operating and maintaining conventional and special-purpose machines, reading blueprints, and performing precision fabrication. The ideal candidate will have basic math skills, the ability to read a tape measure and calipers, and preferred experience with industrial machines, forklifts, and overhead cranes.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain conventional and special-purpose machines to fabricate parts.
- Read blueprints or instructions for job specifications.
- Set up, operate, and maintain machines, including loading, machining, unloading, and de-burring.
- Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions for accuracy.
- Select and secure tools, fixtures, accessories, and materials.
- Monitor machine operations, detect malfunctions, and make adjustments.
- Replace and install machined parts, ensuring proper functionality.
- Use precision measuring devices to check work and troubleshoot issues.
- Safely rig and transport structures and products using overhead cranes and forklifts.
- Maintain a tidy work area during and after each shift.
- Prioritize safety and adhere to company-wide safety policies.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1 year of professional experience related to manufacturing (preferred).
- Basic math skills including the ability to read a tape measure and calipers.
- Demonstrated ability to read blueprints (preferred).
- Experience using industrial machines (preferred).
- Forklift operation certification (preferred).
- Overhead crane experience (preferred).
- Proficiency in one or more of the following equipment: radial drills, fin tube machinery, large vertical band saw, presses, breaks and shears.
- Ability to regularly exert up to 50 lbs of force occasionally and 30 lbs of force frequently.
- Ability to stand or walk for 80% of the workday.
- Visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
- Mobility & Posture: Standing, walking, crouching, stooping, kneeling, and balancing on varied surfaces.
- Manual Dexterity: Reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, and lifting objects using upper body strength.
- Fine Motor Skills: Repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers for precision tasks.
- Communication: Clear verbal expressions and active listening.
- Sensory Abilities: Adequate hearing.
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment: steel toe boots, safety glasses, and ear plugs.
- Ability to work near hazards: moving machinery, vehicles, electrical currents, and chemicals.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to travel.
- Familiarity with machine shop theory, shop mathematics, material machinability, and layout techniques.
