ABB is seeking an experienced LV Project Senior Engineer to act as a design authority and provide supervisory guidance in Egypt. This role involves managing low voltage switchgear projects, collaborating with remote teams, and ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience in low voltage switchgear design and a degree in Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Act as a design authority for an engineering discipline and provide supervisory guidance to a team of engineers.
- Complete assignments on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects in a cost-effective manner.
- Oversee the work of the team to ensure quality and timely delivery.
- Collaborate with the remote Engineering Centre in Egypt to align workflows, share best practices, and ensure seamless coordination.
- Ensure all assignments are completed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards.
- Work with customers to shape and deliver solutions while gathering feedback to drive continuous improvement.
- Create work plans and cost estimates for the portfolio of projects, ensuring quality, timely delivery, and achievement of KPIs.
- Coordinate with production and remote Engineering Centre in Egypt to ensure designs are properly manufactured, staged, tested, installed, and commissioned.
- Coach and supervise engineering colleagues on translating conceptual designs into engineering documentation, sharing best practices and lessons learned.
- Drive resolution of quality issues and support development strategies across projects.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience in the design of low voltage switchgear, including related activities such as testing, production support, and material planning.
- Strong knowledge of Low Voltage Systems, IEC standards, EPLAN, short-circuit and selectivity studies, automation, PLC programming, and switchgear configurators.
- Degree in Engineering (Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical).
- At ease communicating in English.
