Responsibilities
- Support prototype hardware bring-up, debug, distribution, and new silicon validation.
- Troubleshoot platform hardware and ASIC-related issues using test scripts and lab equipment.
- Collect and analyze test data.
- Prepare technical reports to support engineering decision-making.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Perform component-level hardware debug, root cause analysis, and validation of complex electronic systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 1+ year of Support Engineering or related work experience OR Associate's degree and 2+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience.
- Hands-on experience with hardware bring-up, debug, and validation of prototype platforms.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and ASIC issues using automated test scripts and lab instrumentation.
- Strong understanding of power delivery, signal integrity, and high-speed interface design principles.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical documentation.
- Experience measuring and analyzing high-speed digital and RF signals.
- Proficiency with common hardware laboratory equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal analyzers, JTAG debuggers, FPGA programming tools, and related instrumentation.
- Demonstrated experience performing hardware bring-up, troubleshooting, and debug in a laboratory environment.
- Strong soldering and rework skills, including the ability to work with fine-pitch SMT components down to 01005 package sizes.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a systematic approach to hardware debugging and issue resolution.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional engineering teams while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced development environment.
Desired Qualifications
- Strong understanding of power distribution networks (PDNs), signal integrity, impedance matching, and high-speed digital and RF measurement techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and troubleshoot RF, analog, and digital baseband circuits using schematics, simulation results, and laboratory test equipment.
- Strong understanding of cellular, wireless, and compute platform technologies, including key performance metrics and measurement techniques such as receiver sensitivity, transmit power, ACLR, EVM, signal integrity, jitter, power integrity, and IR drop.
- Experience characterizing and debugging high-speed digital interfaces and RF subsystems through lab-based measurements and data analysis.
- Knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity, and system-level performance optimization in complex hardware platforms.
- Experience with digital and/or RF circuit design, including schematic review, component selection, and design validation.
- Familiarity with silicon bring-up, hardware validation, and characterization activities for prototype and pre-production systems.
