Arla Foods is looking for an HGV Driver Trainer at their Lockerbie depot, responsible for training new and existing drivers on safe and efficient driving practices, regulations, and health and safety procedures. This full-time role requires a HGV license and experience in driver training, with a commitment to professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out driving assessments on all new drivers at Interview stage
  • Conduct Driver Inductions
  • Deliver Safe And Fuel Efficient Driving (SAFED) technique training
  • Train on EU drivers’ hours and FTA regulations
  • Manage driver Infringements
  • Provide Health and safety training (i.e. manual handling, farm safety)
  • Carry out risk assessments and safe systems of work onsite and at farms
  • Train drivers on Bulk Farm collections in line with the driver handbook
  • Conduct Farm hazard awareness training
  • Provide DTAS (Dairy Transport Assurance Scheme) training and annual assessments
  • Carry out annual driver assessments, identify training needs and act accordingly
  • Perform drug and alcohol testing

Requirements

  • Motivated individual with experience in driver training
  • Hold a HGV license
  • Enthusiastic about teaching others and able to engage and educate
  • Excellent communicator, both verbally and in written form
  • Health & Safety orientated
  • Fully literate in writing up Safe Working Practices and How to Guides
  • Fully IT literate with Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Confident in presenting to groups in training scenarios

Desired Qualifications

  • RTITB trained in LGV Assessor Training
  • RTITB trained in LGV Instructor Training
  • RTITB trained in Yardshunter Instructor Training
  • Previous Experience in Milk Collection
