Amazon's Finance Operations, Accounting & Analysis (FOAA) team seeks a Financial Analyst to support the leasing team in Karnataka. The role involves financial accounting, reporting, month-end close activities, general ledger reconciliations, balance sheet analysis, and promoting system/process improvements. This on-site position requires a CA qualification and experience with financial controls, Excel, and SQL.

Responsibilities

  • Perform month-end activities including closing of sub ledgers, general ledger account reconciliations, reporting, and balance sheet account analysis.
  • Ensure appropriate financial policies, procedures, and internal controls are in place, documented, and operating as intended.
  • Promote systems/process development within the department to ensure ongoing efficiency and control improvements.
  • Support management in all aspects of financial accounting, reporting systems, procedures, and policies.
  • Conduct month-end closing activities for multiple sub ledgers, manual journals, pre-recon, and other analyses.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual reconciliations and balance sheet analysis, and reporting.

Requirements

  • CA qualification is a requirement.
  • 0-4 years of post-qualification experience in Month end closing of Books of accounts / working on various Sub-ledgers / Accounting Knowledge / Balance sheet Reconciliation & Reporting activities.
  • Knowledge of standard software including Excel, Access, Oracle, Essbase, SQL and VBA skills.
  • Experience using data to influence business decisions.
  • Experience in corporate finance including budgeting/planning, forecasting and reporting is a plus.

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience in Retail or Market Place or Financial Retail Services is recommended.
  • Strong interpersonal skills — including written and oral communication skills.
  • Zeal towards operational excellence/process improvement & simplifications.
  • Excellent knowledge of financial controls and procedures.
  • Advanced level Excel and knowledge of SQL will be preferred.
  • Experience of Oracle and Blackline Reconciliation tool. Flexible, adaptable, well organized.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma defect reduction techniques (Lean, etc.) preferred.
  • Should have strong team skills and Self-motivated, enthusiastic and highly energetic.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good articulation skill.
  • Well versed with excel.
  • 2+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience.
  • Experience in TM1, Data Warehouse and SQL.
