Emerson is hiring a Financial Analyst for their Financial Services Group in Pune. This hybrid role involves managing monthly financial reporting, closing processes, revenue recognition, and performing variance analysis. The ideal candidate is a finance professional with 3 years of experience in FP&A, hands-on ERP experience (Oracle preferred), and a basic understanding of US GAAP.
Responsibilities
- Manage the monthly reporting process, ensuring timely and accurate financial information.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes.
- Prepare daily/monthly flash for Orders and Sales.
- Determine correct revenue recognition methods for projects.
- Handle Revenue & COS Recognition in Oracle for projects.
- Reconcile Control Accounts (WIP/UBR/UER) between sub-ledger and General Ledger.
- Conduct month-end checks (EAC movements, Loss Accruals, Cost Corrections).
- Manage pre-close accruals, re-class of timesheets, and time sheet analysis.
- Perform project maintenance in Oracle, including closure, cost/revenue reconciliations, and clearance of differences.
- Clear cost interface errors and PA module closure.
- Review and validate foreign currency exposures monthly.
- Generate project financial reports (ITD Invoice, Project Status Inquiry, etc.).
- Reconcile backlog and report FX Backlog correctly.
- Analyze WIP and UBR Aging.
- Perform monthly variance analysis (GP Tracking).
- Participate in the monthly forecasting (POR) process.
- Support segment reporting (Product Group & KOB).
- Prepare post month-end reports for Site & BU management.
- Liaise with Business Unit Financial Analysts for financial details and variance explanations.
- Support Annual Budgets, mid-year reviews, and Ops Reviews.
- Support WIP Count & Inventory Analysis.
- Assist with Annual Audits.
- Participate in Project Reviews (Monthly and Quarterly).
Requirements
- Finance Professional with up to 3 years of work experience in FP&A Domain.
- Hands-on experience in ERP, MS Office, and reporting tools.
- Self-starter with the ability to think creatively, driven, and self-motivated.
- High standards of accuracy and highly organized.
- Team Player.
- Qualified Chartered Accountant, CMA up to 3 years of post-qualification experience in finance domain.
- Basic understanding of Accounting Principles and US GAAP.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- System Knowledge of Oracle, Oracle SmartView.
- Good Excel knowledge & presentation tools.
Desired Qualifications
- Qualified Chartered Accountant, CMA up to 3 years of post-qualification experience in finance domain.
- Basic understanding of Accounting Principles and US GAAP.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- System Knowledge of Oracle, Oracle SmartView.
- Good Excel knowledge & presentation tools.
