As a Field Service Engineer at ABB in Amman, Jordan, you will execute service work on MV/LV switchgear, protection relays, and ABB products. Responsibilities

  • Execute testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of MV/LV switchgear.
  • Perform activities related to switchgear expansion, modification, upgrade, and retrofit.
  • Test ABB protection relays and control circuits.
  • Maintain a high level of HSE awareness and comply with ABB safety and quality requirements.
  • Assist the Project Manager in planning and coordinating site activities.
  • Resolve technical and site issues, coordinating with engineering teams.
  • Prepare and manage test reports and technical documentation.
  • Provide customer technical support and training.
  • Report site progress, deviations, and technical issues to the Project Manager.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Electrical Engineering background with strong hands-on field experience in MV/LV switchgear, protection systems, testing, commissioning, retrofit, and service projects.
  • Ability to work independently at customer sites and travel as required.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with ABB products, including ZS1, ZS2, GIS, ZX1.2, circuit breakers, and protection relays.
  • Good knowledge of ABB protection relays, testing skills using secondary injection/primary injection, control circuits, and interlocking.
