As a Factory Controller in Newburyport, MA, you will coordinate local factory finance activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, balance sheet valuation, and product cost. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate local factory finance activities to ensure accuracy of financial reporting, balance sheet valuation, and product cost.
  • Support line management in analysis and decision-making needs, KPI / P&L monitoring.
  • Ensure local compliance with internal Finance policies.
  • Perform Actual vs. Standard Cost Variance Analysis.
  • Manage Standard Costing / Cost Roll; rates, standards, variance analysis, and controls.
  • Provide ERP software support for processes including order entry, invoicing, job costing, inventory control, production purchasing, and production control.
  • Execute Monthly Closing Routines & Reporting, including Journal Entries and Account Reconciliation / Analysis.
  • Maintain / implement proper internal controls.
  • Oversee Annual Physical Inventory / Administration of Cycle Counts; conduct Inventory Trend / Variance Analysis.
  • Coordinate Budget and Forecast Processes.
  • Review Capital Projects and perform Post Project Audits; support Fixed Asset review.
  • Support the Production Management Team.
  • Perform analysis of the Product Center activities, supporting Business Unit and Product Group reporting (Sales Company / Service Center).
  • Coordinate Factory KPI’s Reporting.
  • Prepare Monthly / Quarterly Financial Reviews and Presentations (including Cost Update).
  • Manage Local Financial Systems Implementation/Maintenance (including Y/E & periodic).
  • Ensure data and system integrity in ERP and related Alfa Laval specific software.
  • Process customer order, including EDI transactions.
  • Handle domestic and international shipping and invoicing of new equipment projects and spare parts.
  • Process RMA’s and other credits as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an accounting, finance, and administration position.
  • Proven experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance a plus).
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and communicate financial insights effectively.
  • Organized and works well with tight deadlines.
  • Multitasking and prioritizing.
  • Works well independently and as a member of a team.
  • Domestic and International Shipping documentation preparation.

  • Preferred, 2-3 years in a manufacturing environment working with finance and inventory management.
