ABB is seeking an ELSP Logistics Specialist in Mebane, NC. This full-time, on-site role involves managing warehouse operations, optimizing inventory processes, and ensuring efficient material handling. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and at least one year of experience in logistics or production.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct all activities related to handling parts and products in the warehouse or to/from the production line.
  • Sort and arrange material for storage according to guidelines.
  • Optimize inventory processes, drive continuous improvement, and support cross-functional collaboration.
  • Coordinate and expedite materials.
  • Manage inventory quality and accuracy, and maintain inventory management systems.
  • Schedule dedicated and expedited transportation, trend transportation costs, and recommend cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Develop and integrate processes that enhance safety, efficiency, quality, and cost control.
  • Build strong relationships with plant leadership, commercial teams, customer service, and finance.
  • Publish performance metrics.
  • Support master schedule execution.
  • Perform routine warehouse tasks such as sorting materials, picking components, final packing, cycle counting, and raw material audits.
  • Perform SAP data maintenance and storage location cleanup.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in production, planning, or logistics.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required.
  • Knowledge and use of tools – tape measure, calipers, grinders, or other hand tools, as needed.
  • Ability to safely use a ladder while performing the job, as needed.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 40lbs.

Desired Qualifications

  • Manufacturing plant environment requiring a combination of hands-on and technical tasks.
  • Work may involve occasional lifting of materials, climbing stairs/ladders, and walking.
  • Employees may be required to bend, twist, or stand for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of computers is necessary for data entry, monitoring, and communication.
  • Employees will also handle a variety of tools and equipment, from hand tools to machinery, requiring technical skills and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed shoes, is required to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Adhering to safety guidelines is essential for all team members.
  • Physical endurance, technical proficiency, and a commitment to maintaining safety standards are required.
