We are looking for an Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer with 5-10 years of experience in design and project execution for engine/motor-driven compressors. The role involves leading E&I engineering activities, designing power, control, and instrumentation systems, and ensuring compliance with international standards. This position is based in Vadodara, Gujarat, with potential travel and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead E&I engineering activities for Energy Conversion, Steam, and industrial automation projects.
  • Develop/review specifications, calculations, drawings, datasheets, and design documents.
  • Design and estimate power distribution, control, and instrumentation systems per project and standards requirements.
  • Develop control philosophies, I/O architecture, instrumentation layouts, control system and electrical configurations.
  • Size and select electrical equipment, switchgear, motors, instruments, cables, and related components.
  • Prepare/review panel layouts, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and wire harness designs.
  • Ensure compliance with IEC, CSA, UL, and customer requirements.
  • Review vendor proposals, technical documents, and equipment specifications.
  • Support design, manufacturing, testing, commissioning, and optimization of control panels and electrical systems.
  • Participate in customer meetings, technical reviews, site surveys, and workshops.
  • Provide technical leadership in execution, troubleshooting, commissioning, and performance improvement.
  • Collaborate with Mechanical, Process, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, Service, and Project teams.
  • Convert customer requirements into engineering specifications and design solutions.
  • Coordinate multiple projects, ensuring timely and quality deliverables.
  • Manage planning, execution, resources, and technical risks.
  • Drive standardization, digitalization, value engineering, and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • BE/B.Tech/M.Tech in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.
  • 5-10 years of experience for Senior Engineer level.
  • Experience in Process Industry, Energy, Utilities, Power, Oil & Gas, or Industrial Manufacturing.
  • Hands-on operational support of utility/process systems.
  • Expertise in Steam, Energy Recovery, and E&I Engineering.
  • Expertise in LV/MV power distribution, MCCs, starters, VFDs, soft starters, and LV/MV/HV motors.
  • Experience in switchgear sizing/selection, panel layout, wire harness, and cable design per IEC, UL, CSA, ATEX, and CE standards.
  • Knowledge of electrical protection, coordination studies, cable engineering, routing, earthing, grounding, and lightning protection.
  • Strong understanding of electrical integration and control panel design.
  • Experience in instrument sizing, selection, and specification.
  • Knowledge of PLC, SCADA, HMI, automation systems, industrial communication networks, and control architectures.
  • Understanding of functional safety, interlocks, HAZOP, SIL, and Cause & Effect development.
  • Knowledge of hazardous area classification (ATEX/IECEx) and equipment selection.
  • Hands-on FAT, SAT, commissioning, troubleshooting, and validation experience.
  • Knowledge of IEC, ISA, UL, API, NFPA, ISO, CSA, ATEX, IECEx, and CE requirements.
  • Preparation/review of: I/O Lists, Cable Schedules, JB Schedules, Alarm & Trip Lists, Control Narratives, Logic Diagrams, Cause & Effect (C&E) Matrices, Earthing Layouts, Panel, JB, and Instrument Location Layouts.
  • Lead/participate in kick-off meetings, design reviews, HAZOP/SIL workshops, FAT, SAT, and customer discussions.
  • Strong stakeholder management with customers, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and engineering deliverables.
  • Proficiency in EPLAN Electric P8; Pro Panel and eBUILD (Cogineer) preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and AutoCAD Mechanical.
  • Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor preferred.
  • Advanced MS Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and engineering document management.
  • Strong technical knowledge in E&I Engineering.
