Responsibilities
- Define new product needs in collaboration with the upfront marketing engineer.
- Develop innovative design concepts using the latest design and manufacturing technology.
- Perform and document engineering design calculations and analysis using computer-aided tools.
- Generate product technical specifications, technical assessment plans, and test plans.
- Create product documentation, specifications, and procedures, and approve design drawings.
- Collaborate with the CAD team to create detailed 2D/3D drawings.
- Work with suppliers to produce engineering prototypes.
- Facilitate the transition of new product designs into production with manufacturing, quality, and operations teams.
- Oversee the verification and implementation of design concepts into production.
- Support product launch and lifecycle development by collaborating with global product engineers.
- Investigate and apply relevant industry standards to new product development.
- Contribute to the long-term vision and management of the business unit’s product portfolio.
- Assist with project management and other assigned project activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field.
- Familiarity with MS Office software and computer-aided design.
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software.
- Effective written and verbal English communication skills.
- Good communication, strategic thinking, decision-making, interpersonal skills, and problem-solving skills with engineering common sense.
Desired Qualifications
- Design working experience in valves, process control industry, or similar backgrounds is preferred.
- Familiarity with mechanical design, product or program management, and good knowledge of control valves.
- Advanced SolidWorks modeling and simulation experience.
- Experience working in a global engineering environment.
