Zebra Technologies is looking for an entry-level Data Engineer in Bengaluru, India. This full-time, on-site role involves transforming raw data into actionable business intelligence using Power BI, requiring strong analytical skills, proficiency in data modeling and DAX, and the ability to manage the Power BI service environment.

Responsibilities

  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and analytical workflows.
  • Connect to backend enterprise systems (SQL databases, cloud warehouses, APIs) for data extraction.
  • Design efficient data schemas (Star/Snowflake) and establish table relationships.
  • Author high-performing DAX queries, calculations, and measures.
  • Perform complex data transformation and cleansing in Power Query.
  • Build intuitive, user-friendly, and visually clean dashboards.
  • Set up and manage Power BI workspaces, app publishing pipelines, and deployment environments.
  • Configure Row-Level Security (RLS) and manage workspace user permissions and sharing.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot data gateways and automated refresh schedules.
  • Monitor report performance, identify bottlenecks, and resolve dataset refresh errors.

Requirements

  • 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience building and administering Power BI environments.
  • Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL queries (joins, aggregations, subqueries).
  • Experience connecting to and querying modern cloud platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Azure SQL, BigQuery, Redshift).
  • Solid core knowledge of Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, data gateways, and complex DAX measures.
  • Strong logical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Desired Qualifications

  • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Lakehouses).
  • Experience querying data within Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery).
  • Microsoft PL-300 certification or basic familiarity with Power Platform tools (Power Apps, Power Automate).
