Qualcomm is seeking a CPU System Debug (Sysdebug) Validation Staff Engineer in Bangalore, India. This role is responsible for system-level SysDebug enablement and post-silicon validation across CPU, Uncore, and SoC Level debug, focusing on driving E2E debugs and feature validation. The position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure robust debug readiness from bring-up through production.

Responsibilities

  • Validate system debug (DFx) features across CPU, Uncore, interconnect, and fabric.
  • Drive E2E debugs, working with SW/FW/DV/Design teams.
  • Debug across the IP's BOOT, Low Power, DVFS, and fault scenarios.
  • Ensure correct debug behavior across Pre-Si and Silicon platforms.
  • Perform Scan dump Analysis and triage, driving towards root cause.
  • Debug system-level hangs, deadlocks, and fabric-level failures.
  • Enable and validate end-to-end debug workflows using internal debug Frameworks.
  • Drive standardization of debug environments and APIs across programs.
  • Support silicon bring-up and post-silicon debug.
  • Perform root cause analysis for boot failures, hangs, resets, power collapses.
  • Prevent SysDebug escapes across SoD, ES, and CS milestones.
  • Partner with CPU DV, Uncore DV, Firmware, Architecture, Tools, and Program teams.
  • Participate in SysDebug forums, HW/SW syncs, and readiness reviews.
  • Contribute to validation dashboards, KPIs, and debug readiness sign-offs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
  • OR Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
  • OR PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in system-level SysDebug enablement and post-silicon validation across CPU, Uncore, and SoC Level debug.
  • Experience in driving E2E debugs, debug feature validation, scan-dump and trace analysis, system failure triage, and escape prevention.
  • Experience partnering closely with Architecture, DV, Firmware, Tools, and Program teams.
  • Experience ensuring robust debug readiness from bring-up through production milestones.
