As a CNC Machinist, you will program, set up, and operate Swiss-type lathes for precision component manufacturing. Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor CNC Swiss-type lathes to produce precision components to specifications
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions
  • Select, install, and adjust cutting tools, collets, guide bushings, and other machine parts
  • Perform offset adjustments, tool changes, and program edits at the machine control
  • Measure and inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and CMM
  • Write machine G-code programs using a CAD/CAM software based on part drawings and specifications from engineering
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and keep work area clean and organized
  • Collaborate with team members such as manufacturing engineering, quality, planning, and production staff
  • Support implementation of new products, tooling, techniques and processes
  • Foster a team-based learning environment for yourself and others
  • Promote a safe work area carrying out regular housekeeping duties as necessary
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in machining
  • Set up and operate multi-spindle CNC machines
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and understand GD&T
  • Read, write, and edit G-code programs
  • Set, use, and read precision layout and measuring instruments
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift and position parts weighing up to approximately no more than 50 pounds periodically
  • Ability to grip, push and pull carts loaded with parts
  • Ability to stand for the duration of the shift
