Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC Swiss-type lathes to produce precision components to specifications
- Read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions
- Select, install, and adjust cutting tools, collets, guide bushings, and other machine parts
- Perform offset adjustments, tool changes, and program edits at the machine control
- Measure and inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and CMM
- Write machine G-code programs using a CAD/CAM software based on part drawings and specifications from engineering
- Perform routine machine maintenance and keep work area clean and organized
- Collaborate with team members such as manufacturing engineering, quality, planning, and production staff
- Support implementation of new products, tooling, techniques and processes
- Foster a team-based learning environment for yourself and others
- Promote a safe work area carrying out regular housekeeping duties as necessary
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in machining
- Set up and operate multi-spindle CNC machines
- Read and interpret technical drawings and understand GD&T
- Read, write, and edit G-code programs
- Set, use, and read precision layout and measuring instruments
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift and position parts weighing up to approximately no more than 50 pounds periodically
- Ability to grip, push and pull carts loaded with parts
- Ability to stand for the duration of the shift
