This role is responsible for driving direct material purchasing activities for cooking product components, aiming for the lowest total system cost. It involves collaborating with commodity teams, managing supplier relationships, ensuring proper administration, and contributing to purchasing strategies and KPI results.
Responsibilities
- Drive Direct Material Purchasing activity in the factory for assigned components/service.
- Ensure maximum collaboration with the Commodity Team and implement action plans within the PL.
- Give input on production needs and report on possible bottlenecks at operative level.
- Ensure proper administration in the factory and develop good relationships with preferred suppliers.
- Ensure execution of sourcing activities and relevant information.
- Participate and support in build-up of purchasing strategies and ensure their execution.
- Participate and support in reaching KPI results.
- Keep up-to-date administration: price index management, manage billing discrepancies.
- Supplier performance follow-up and corrective actions.
- Coordinate new suppliers/parts and engineering changes with various internal and external teams.
- Manage multiple projects, resolve problems, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Work directly with and support initiatives of Electrolux Major Appliances North America (EMA-NA) commodity, global commodity, product line, sales, engineering, publications, and other teams.
- Regularly analyze supplier quality, delivery, and cost metrics.
- Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with external suppliers and internal resources.
- Review and analyze materials supplied to identify cost-effective opportunities.
- Internalize EMA policies and practices and enforce them with suppliers and internal resources.
- Ensure decisions are made in the best interest of Electrolux and executed.
Requirements
- BS Degree in Business or Engineering preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of progressive responsibility in a business function.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of engineering drawings of component parts preferred.
- Relevant experience in purchasing and/or supply chain and/or quality.
- Proven track record of effective purchasing management in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in suppliers process and cost drivers.
- Experience in supplier market/sourcing.
- Material flow process knowledge.
- Negotiation skills.
