Alfa Laval is seeking an Assembler I for the 2nd shift in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. This full-time position involves assembling products by positioning and installing components using hand and power tools, reading blueprints, and ensuring parts fit correctly. A High School Diploma or GED is required, with manufacturing experience and blueprint reading skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble products by positioning and installing components and subassemblies according to drawings and instructions.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, fixtures, work instructions, and test equipment.
  • Prepare work by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists.
  • Gather parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Examine connections for correct fit and fasten parts and subassemblies.
  • Measure completed cooler components to verify specifications.
  • Assist Team Leader or Manager with training new employees.
  • Perform tube installation and rolling operations.
  • Keep equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements and troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Provide needed material to various workstations.
  • Load and unload trucks, units, and parts.
  • Operate cut saws, drill presses, and punch press.
  • Use precision measuring devices to check quality of work.
  • Safely rig structure and material for movement by overhead crane.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Prioritize safety and adhere to company-wide safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct oneself with professionalism, courtesy, and cooperation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year of professional experience related to manufacturing (preferred)
  • Basic math skills including the ability to read a tape measure and calipers (required)
  • Demonstrated ability to read blueprints (preferred)
  • Experience using industrial machines (preferred)
  • Forklift operation certification (preferred)
  • Overhead crane experience (preferred)
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following equipment: radial drills, fin tube machinery, large vertical band saw, presses, breaks and shears.
  • Ability to regularly exert up to 50 lbs of force occasionally and 30 lbs of force frequently.
  • Ability to stand or walk 80% of the workday.
  • Visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
  • Ability to lift raw materials, assemblies, and equipment manually up to 50 lbs (overhead crane for items over 50lbs).
  • Ability to climb ladders, bend, squat, and use mechanic type tools.
  • Mobility and posture: Standing, walking, crouching, stooping, kneeling, and balancing on varied surfaces.
  • Manual Dexterity: Reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, and lifting objects using upper body strength.
  • Fine Motor Skills: Repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers for precision tasks.
  • Communication: Clear verbal expressions and active listening.
  • Sensory Abilities: Adequate hearing to distinguish sounds and spoken communication.
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment: steel toe boots, safety glasses, and ear plugs.
  • Ability to work near hazards: moving machinery, vehicles, electrical currents, and chemicals.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work in environments with outdoor weather, extreme heat or cold, loud noise, and vibration.
  • Ability to work in environments with fumes, dust, gases, odors, and poor ventilation.
