We are seeking a Principal AI/ML Platform Architect to optimize AI system performance and power on the Snapdragon platform for Windows. This role involves driving HW-SW design and architecture, ensuring industry-leading performance and power for AI applications, and studying Enterprise AI workflows for on-device components.

Responsibilities

  • Understand ML network design trends and their impact on SW/HW design.
  • Analyze bottlenecks in end-to-end ML/AI use cases and workloads on Qualcomm HW/SW.
  • Perform on-device correlation and tuning of algorithms against pre-silicon predictions.
  • Analyze Enterprise AI workflows and propose components for enhanced productivity on Snapdragon AI PCs.
  • Interface with cross-functional teams to create performant reference implementations, tools, and documentation.
  • Analyze, develop, and propose new features for next-gen SoCs to reduce performance bottlenecks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 8+ years of relevant experience, OR Master's with 7+ years, OR PhD with 6+ years.
  • Extensive experience in architecture-aware AI Model system performance optimization on Windows PC/Laptop.
  • Architecture-aware benchmarking and performance breakdown analysis with GPU, NPU.
  • Knowledge of state-of-the-art AI in Computer Vision, Audio, Generative AI, Agentic AI.
  • Excellent understanding of AI frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch), GPU/NPU programming, and parallel computing.
  • Good understanding of complete Software stack and familiarity with AI/multimedia hardware acceleration.
  • Experience with performance optimization of AI applications on Windows using processor-specific tools/libraries/primitives on GPU, NPU.
  • Strong background in end-to-end system performance analysis using profiling tools and algorithmic modification methods.
  • Knowledge of state-of-the-art in Agentic AI.
  • Knowledge of computer architecture and embedded system implementations.
  • Strong software engineering principles.
  • Proficiency in Python, C++.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn, think and adapt in a fast-changing environment.
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies, version control systems, and agile project management practices.
  • 15+ years experience in High Performance Computing System Engineering or Software with 5+ years in AI system optimization.
  • Masters or PhD in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with large language models/foundational models development and deployment is a plus.
  • Ability to think strategically and drive innovative solutions.
